Whew! It's December 21st and I feel like I've been run over by a dump truck! Things have been so busy for the past week or so, I feel like I haven't had time to think! Just keep checking my schedule and making sure I'm not missing something. Found laundry in my washer from last Thursday. Today is Monday. Great. Nothing like rewashing a load of clothes! Through all of the hustle and bustle, N was becoming a little weary himself. He was fussy and whiny most of last week - which I think was nothing more than us just never being home! So Thursday N had his preschool party at school. I got there early to take some pictures and help with his class. It does a Mommy's heart good to see her kid light up when she walks in his classroom! I know it won't always be like that - but I will treasure these moments always. I made up my mind at that moment that we were doing nothing the rest of the day. Scracth all plans - N and I were going home to just "be" together. No shopping, no grabbing lunch on the run. And you know what - the world didn't colapse! We had a quiet lunch at home, rested while watching a couple of his shows, then played outside in the backyard for a long time. We had that reconnecting time and it was wonderful.
N is understanding so much about Christmas this year that it is definitely time to bake the birthday cake for Jesus. Looking forward to doing that in the next few days. Yes, Santa is bringing N a few gifts, and it's ok! He knows the true meaning of Christmas...but Santa will find him at Mimi's and Poppy's Christmas Eve. And let me tell you what - he is pumped!
I have to finish with N's quote while we were watching The Polar Express last week. It was family night - all of us lined up on our couch watching the movie. It gets to the part where the Aurora Borealis appear from the back of the train. In a whispered, awe-filled voice, N says, "The Aurora Borealis can make anything." Soooo precious.
I love hearing stories about kids...I hope Christmas went well and that you all did not get cabin fever to bad from all the snow!
